Go Media Stadium is perhaps most famously known as the home of the New Zealand Warriors (the national rugby league team). Fans regularly turn up in droves to cheer on their beloved team in the 50,000 seater stadium, located in the industrial suburb of Penrose.
And while many other sporting events are held here, including athletics, football and rugby - it’s just as popular for major concerts and festivals too. Every year the stadium sees some of the world’s biggest names in entertainment performing on its pitch - with past acts including Adele, Taylor Swift, The Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Fleetwood Mac and more. A variety of festivals are also held in the grounds, covering everything from culture to food to cars.
The venue has a mix of standing and seated areas with food and drinks available for purchase around the stadium. Beyond the public areas, Mt Smart also has function spaces for hire, with views over the stadium. They vary in size and are suitable for hosting a range of events - from cocktail functions to conferences.

When big events are on at the stadium, the surrounding streets can become heavy with traffic. If you’re arranging to be picked up or dropped off, it’s best to identify a meeting point a few blocks away from the main entrances.
